Our Self-study Political English Courses explained

Our self-study courses are built for learners who want to confidently use English for politics and diplomacy. Each course includes 6 modules with 6 structured lessons based on politics, international relations, and diplomacy.

Rather than relying on memorisation of grammar concepts, our courses explain how and why grammar is used in political English. Students explore questions such as:

  • How does Donald Trump use adverbs in his speeches?
  • Why does the Chinese government use the Present Perfect Continuous so frequently in their English press releases?
  • How did Obama use Modal Verbs during his 2012 election campaign?

This approach shows our students why grammar is used in Political English, not just how.

Our courses focus on critical thinking and discussion. Students learn how to understand English political vocabulary in context, express ideas clearly, and engage with complex global topics, entirely in English.

  • Beginner: Students build a strong foundation in English while learning essential political and global-affairs vocabulary to support reading, listening, and comprehension.
  • Intermediate: Learners practice expressing personal opinions, agreeing and disagreeing, and discussing political topics confidently, as there are no “right” or “wrong” answers.
  • Advanced: Students analyse complex political issues, debate perspectives in depth, and develop the language skills needed for persuasive writing, speeches, and formal debates.

Our courses empower learners not just to understand the language but to think, speak, and participate confidently in the global conversations of diplomacy.
